The Passage is the UK’s largest centre for homeless and insecurely housed people, The Passage not only offers immediate help and longer-term support, but also provides and develops a wide range of value-led support services, including innovative accommodation projects.

The Passage offers a wide range of services, and accommodation 365 days a year to meet the needs of London’s most vulnerable people. Their services are split in to two key areas:

Community Services

From homelessness prevention schemes to hot meals, health care, employment training, debt advice and more – our Resource Centre in Westminster allows us to provide an all-round support network; helping people to find a sustainable route off the streets.

Housing and Progression

With a number of accommodation centres, specialist support for those with complex needs, a working Private Rented Scheme and our London-wide Community Integration Programme: Home for Good, we are proud to be a part of people’s journey home.

The Passages mission is to:

  1. Preventing street homelessness by intervening quickly before people reach crisis point.
  2. Ending street homelessness by providing innovative and tailor-made services that act with both compassion and urgency.
  3. Advocating for those who feel they are not heard by amplifying their voice to bring about real systemic change

HOW WE DELIVERED

The Passage identified a requirement to upgrade their network infrastructure with a more secure and resilient solution for its staff, guests, and service users. Fluid worked with The Passage to define their strategic technology requirements and to implement a network that met the organisations security and operational goals.

The Fluid team designed an enterprise grade replacement network that included best in class security appliances, resilient core and access layer LAN switches, secure wireless APs with automatic policy enforcement and identity-based controls and an innovative smart camera solution.

The network implementation was completed with minimal impact to the business, all migration activities were completed outside of normal working hours, ensuring critical services were still available to the business when needed.

The transformation project delivered on all requirements and also provided The Passage IT staff with the controls and visibility to manage the network via the Cisco Meraki Dashboard, an easy-to-manage central cloud platform.  

Following the successful network transformation at The Passages main site, Fluid continues to work with the business and have successfully delivered network infrastructure projects at further business locations.
