THE COMPANY
Bourn Hall Clinic in Cambridgeshire is a world-renowned IVF clinic. A private health service that has expanded across much of the East of England with satellite clinics in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and partner clinics in Norfolk and Bedfordshire. It was previously part of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Serono, but split from its parent company to run as a separate enterprise.
Bourn Hall was taken over by the internal management team, following the split from Serono. A complete infrastructure had to be designed, agreed and installed which included all aspects of operational IT whilst also allowing flexibility for change and growth, as well as being cost effective. While the business had been part of the Serono infrastructure, the IT functions were provided by a range of different providers. Now that Bourn Hall was a separate entity, it didn’t have the same range of access to services.
HOW WE DELIVERED
Fluid put forward an implementation plan, which involved IT consultancy and service management to meet all Bourn Hall’s operational IT requirements. With Fluid providing all the management, support and day-to-day operation of the IT systems, the security of the system was robust and there would be sufficient inbuilt flexibility to cater for future developments and growth.
Fluid and Bourn Hall now work together on every aspect of the company’s IT provision and development. Having all its IT needs met by one provider means there is no need for Bourn Hall to bring in additional providers or put IT staff through costly training when new IT systems are installed.
It also means the private hospital has access to both Fluid’s specialist knowledge and new technology, as well as the ability to tap into its purchasing power when new equipment is needed.
Bourn Hall chose to work with Fluid to deliver this project to a pre-agreed budget. With investment into a new IT system, Bourn Hall was able to centralise all its clinics’ IT Operations. Centralisation included an online booking system, patient data, emails and applications which can all be shared across Bourn Hall sites. The base infrastructure configuration and Fluid’s approach to ongoing customer care allows ongoing room for growth and development within Bourn Hall’s business.
